Paula Shearer spent her childhood camping and fishing along the pristine riverbanks and forests near her home in Calgary, Canada. Since childhood, she has been inseparable from her fly rod, honing her casting skills and learning from every knot and snag along the way. Despite excelling in various sports in her younger years, she found a renewed sense of purpose in fly fishing along the Bow River. This devotion led her to become a river guide, obtaining her certified casting instructor status, and creating her own company, PS On The Fly. Her guiding service allows her to spend every day on the water as well as the chance to share her knowledge of Alberta's southern waterways. While she describes her role as physically exhausting, she says it's worth it when she gets to share in some of her clients’ happiest memories. We’re excited to see how Paula’s dedication to fly fishing will surely continue to drive her to share her love for the sport for many years to come.
